With this response, I can only say, believe whatever you like, interpret it however you like. You say, in a smug fashion, that it is especially suitable for a five-year-old to ask such a question, as if I have missed out on basic learning. Well, I'm 25. I was in grade school from August 2002 to May 2016. I don't recall going over any of this within the timeframe of my youth. And though I am aware that transgender has been around for a while, it seems like within these recent years, less than a decade at that, that this topic has become a huge topic in our social discourse. I'm not saying that the social discourse on transgenderism hasn't been around longer than that, but within these recent years, as with everything involving identity, it has become an obsession.
