Was Senator Rand Paul being Transphobic towards Dr. Rachel Levine?
The sensitive subject of transgenderism becoming a social norm will not waver anytime soon in terms of maintaining its controversial status within American politics and social discourse. Whether you agree with it or not, it is a phenomena that has planted its flag permanently in the soils of our community and within its fold, many people who adhere to a transgender identity have their own unique voice to give. Thus, having voices to give, transgenders and transgender supporters have obtained higher positions in the political arena to impactfully convey them.
One such individual that has that power is Dr. Rachel Levine and has made headlines for being nominated by the Biden administration to be the assistant secretary of health for the Department of Health and Human Services. Her current career positions are serving as Health Secretary for the state of Pennsylvania as well as being a professor of psychiatry and pediatrics at Pennsylvania State University’s College of Medicine. Levine is the first open transgender person to be nominated by the senate and naturally will continue to make history as the first open transgender person to hold federal office if elected.
