This has always been ominous to me, as it seems we come to a point where to intellectually question someone else's beliefs or lifestyles is to be equivalent to bigotry. If there is ignorance in the matter, then it is not predicated on the basis of malice, but perhaps, a misunderstanding/misconception. Rowling's challenging the trans narrative from my POV is based on an intellectual inquiry about the matter, rather than a biased attack. It is unnerving how people have reacted to her comments, because she is a progressive individual, and not some rightwing Republican-party pole-licker who is wilfully ignorant for the sake of an agenda. Yet, she is to be seen that way and condemned. I personally question transgenderism at times but that by no means I am transphobic, no more than someone challenging religion is to be considered an irreligious-bigot.
