This is a great story that I, strangely for a WWII nerd, have never heard of before. It does not beat the Christmas truce of 1914 but it is still nevertheless very poignant in its tone and meaning, where brotherhood in humanity surpasses all the restricting labels sybmolized in causes, flags, and uniforms.
