Schade.

It is sad that modern Germans, though no longer under the influence of a despotic dictator, are nevertheless under the despotic influence of the past to a degree that sounds quite unreasonable. I'm not German but I always loved and admired the country; I would hope that pride in one's country (and military--God bless the Bundeswehr), would be taught in schools and in homes. It would be nice to see Germans fly their national flag and it not being for the sake of a mere soccer game.
