Read what?!
What do I have to read? What do I have to listen to? What do I have to see? What do I have to accept?
I don't see what you mean--the difference between racism and being told about racism? That's too vague. To my mind, it was when I was in grade school in history class learning about the Civil War, the Emancipation Proclamation, and yes, the evils of channel slavery. It was when I read about Hitler and the Nazis planning to exterminate the Jews. It was when I read about King Leopold II of Belgium killing many in the African Congo. It was when I read about the Civil Rights movement and the oppression that MLK and others endured. It was reading about the Trail of Tears our government forced the Native Americans to tread on to make living space for, yes, the white man, killing many.
I don't understand where you are coming from.
