It's sad. Frau Riefenstahl was a victim of the times. It is a matter of who is the victor and who is the loser. Had she been a famous Soviet female director, she'd not have worried about her career. Had it not been for the Nazis and WWII, she might've been the female equivalent of a Stanley Kubrick or Andrei Tarkovsky.
