It is one thing to talk about trans-people and having basic human rights. It is one thing for transphobic people taking advantage of people who hold the view that "trans women aren't women" and use it to implement violence against trans people. It's another to take peoples words of disagreement with the trans community and use it against them, and using it against them to keep them quiet. I don't believe trans women are women until they at least fully transitioned; if one says I'm hurting trans people just by stating a belief in that, then it might be unfortunate, but that does not mean I will retract my views. It's becoming more common these days to see people take advantage of a group of peoples misfortunes and using it towards shutting other people up. I may not risk as much as a trans person, but where is the dividing line between the expression of beliefs with no harmful intent and the finger-wagging that says one should not speak about things if they're not in agreement with the LGBTQ community because such views put them in harm's way? It turns into a thin line between reasonableness and tyranny.
