It is an embarrassment that this is happening in my home state, the state that I have lived the last 24 years of my life. Tennessee is a great state with plenty of wonderful, friendly people, and I hate to see this happening not only because of the obvious tragedy but also it paints a dark lens on us. But to readily admit it, we are one of the least evolved states when it comes to this issue, among other things.
