Isn’t it irresponsible to just leave it sitting there though? To leave it alone is understandable but isn’t there the risk of someone finding it by chance and being ignorant that it is that radioactive? What they should’ve done if they had the option during the accident was to cut the cable and let the claw drop in to the reactor building if it was still accessible from above. Or did they already have the sarcophagus over the damaged area of the reactor building?
