I'm a Catholic convert and I can completely understand how lonely or isolating it can be at times to where it seems like nothing of the Church or what it represents seems to mean anything, do anything, or credibly claim anything that is beneficial for its practitioners. But faith, the religious/spiritual life is never an inclined plane for most people. Instead, it is a roller coaster and certain things get in the way to where we lose hope, we let go, and don't want to ride the ride anymore with the exception of the downward spiral. And that is what makes the occupation of being a cleric is a bit more risky, for as it says in James 3:1--"Not many of you should become teachers, my fellow believers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly." Father Francesco is obviously one of those who should've not become a priest but it is hoped for and maybe audatiously anticipated that he is shown mercy and seeks the inner redeeming peace his soul unquestionably thirsts for. Thanks for the read--this was a very good article.
