I would also like some clarification on this. Are you saying that you just don't accept anything that promotes such things (which you are right to do)? Or do you also not publish anything that simply contains it, though the author may have placed such things in their because it was deemed appropriate because it takes place during a certain historical time period where such racist/sexist language was commonly used nonchalantly?

(Think of it as asking: "If someone sent you a story that is like 'To Kill A Mockingbird', would you reject it for its racist content/language?'")
