I understand where you're coming from and that this side of Dole's person needs to be brought up, but is there also a fear of over-emphasizing these negative qualities to where he is condemned to the point in which no one ever sees anything positive about him? In other words, just as you stated that his positive qualities are over-emphasized to the point in which it overshadows the negative, should there also be a concern for the vice-versa (and this cannot only be limited to Senator Dole either).
