I understand where you are coming from and despite being Catholic (converted), I question the church's sexual teachings, not helping the feeling that they're terribly outdated.

However, you say the Church needs to be reformed? I was just wondering that if one was to do that, how would we avoid the same outcome that occurred following Martin Luther and his Reformation?

Could this reform you are calling for (albeit understandable) create greater schisms to where it is 1517 all over again?
