I still see Ukrainians collective effort to protect their homeland as awe-inspiring, regardless of these flawed aspects you highlighted. Though it is indeed disappointing that racist acts are being carried out, I am one to not let that completely overshadow the valuable lesson that Ukraine is teaching the world by its actions when it comes to fighting for one's homeland.

I think though this racism we see might a very unique example of when a country is in disarray by war, tyranny, and great loss of life. Turbulent moments in history have shown how people can react to one another in the most abhorrent ways; it has the ability for them to turn against each other.
