I remember one of my favorite actors, Robert De Niro stating: "I don't know if there is a God but if there is, he's got a lot of explaining to do." It is something that many people will find to be a very arrogant statement. Yet, I cannot help but agree with him, even as a Catholic. Of course, I don't think God should be surprised by this considering the infinite scope of his intelligence. I think he expects us to expect him to have an explanation about the problem of evil and perhaps that out of all the people who say that God does not owe us anything, I would probably agree 100% but with the exception of this one begging questions: WHY?
