I have to think this is somewhat prejudistic and flawed in the way this statement presents itself. Though it definitely has the potential to be anti-thought that does not mean that that is always the case, just as it is not always the case that liberalism is open-minded (especially modern liberalism).

Depends on what type of conservatism or liberalism we’re talking about here.

It is unfair to imply the sentiment that conservative intellectuals are actually pseudo-intellectuals.
