  • I do not have empathy for those who discriminate against LGBTQ people…I have empathy for people who disagree with LGBT people predicated on religious/theological beliefs.
  • Is there a difference between a person who says “I hate f@#$$%ts! They’re revolting!” (even in implicit speech) and a person who says: “I do not support gay marriage because it goes against my beliefs.” I’d like to think so. That is what I am getting at here and that is all that I am trying to say.
  • I am not saying that I agree with those beliefs; I am saying that I understand where people are coming from when they are expressing particular views (that in which is not hate speech).
  • But, is it hate speech to brand a person as evil because he understands people and where they are coming from?! To be honest, I find your language somewhat hurtful because they do not truly reflect me nor what I am trying to say here. I understand where you are coming from but the question is, do you understand that I understand?
