I am not one of those who spout "America is a terrible, horrible place." I don't believe that.

But I do believe America has one of the most vile, corruptible, evil judicial/penal systems in the world. We are so ass-backwards and hypocritical about our sentences, and we dare put rehabilitation on the signs of our prisons?! I'd say our prison system is even worse than prisons in China or Russia, because at least, under a totalitarian government, that is what you'd expect. But we try to fly the flag of freedom, second chances, and so on--it's outrageous!
