I am just concerned about what your plans are when you have to handle a complex question like how all the countries joined the Allied and/or Central powers and for what reasons during WW1.

Simplicity would be key to do this because unnecessary confusion is detrimental to your goals here but too much can water down and devalue the historical richness.
